I am beautiful in the Lord!
Do I really believe I am beautiful in the Lord as I get ready to hit the big 50 next year?
I’ve got quite a few new problems to worry about.
I’ve got graying hair.
My skin is losing it’s elasticity,
I’m gaining wrinkles.
My hairline is receding and my joints are starting to ache in various places.
Can a girl get a break?
As I looked in the mirror most recently I was barraged by thoughts of how everything about my physical appearance is changing and then the truth of God’s word spoke to my heart and showed me that I am STILL BEAUTIFUL to Him!
Here are those three reasons why you are STILL BEAUTIFUL in the Lord!

In the Beginning God Created Beautiful
When God made the earth, he created it. The Hebrew word for the word create is בָּרָא bara’ which means to create, shape, fashion and transform something new.
After God created the day, the night, the sky, the water rand the earth, he thought something specific about what He created that should be lost to us as we read His word.
He said that his creation was good.
The Bible states that man was made in the image of God. And after creating both Adam and Eve, he said something different.
He said it was VERY good.
Good in the Hebrew is the word טוֹב towb meaning good, pleasant, agreeable and valuable.
Is it an unreasonable conclusion to say that, you, who are created in the very image of God, is beautiful?
You are Fearfully and Wonderfully made
Let’s read Psalm 139:14 together.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
God made you in fear in wonder. Those aren’t LIGHT words, lovely friends!
fearfully- to cause astonishment, to be held in awe, to inspire reverence.
wonderfully- marvelous- to be distinct and seperate.
You weren’t created as an afterthought.
When God created you, He was astonished. God was astonished when He created you. He was in awe. You were made in His image and there was reverence.
Isn’t that amazing?
You glorify God in the life that you live for Him!
You are God’s Workmanship
Let’s face it. God doesn’t make junk. It was a masterpiece when God created Adam out of the dust of the earth. And when He breathed life into the soul of Adam it wasn’t a mediocre event. It was spectacular!
God Says You Are Beautiful in the Lord!
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 You were created by the one who LOVES YOUR SOUL! God knowing everything about you shows God’s intimacy about you. From conception to where you are at this very moment, you are His beautiful masterpiece.
The World’s Standards of Beauty Don’t Define You
Do you rely upon the world’s standard of beauty to define you?
What is popular now will change in 10 years… if not sooner. We will laugh at some of the trends and fashions of yesterday.
Real beauty is who the Lord made us to be and not the reflection we see in the mirror. Physical beauty is fleeting and we all have different beauty standards. What is beautiful to you might be meh to me.
Beauty is more than physical. It is a matter of the heart. And with a heart redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb, you, lovely friend are beautiful!
No matter the age, the condition of the body or the grey hair…
You are STILL BEAUTIFUL in the Lord!

Techniques and Supplies
When taking my photographs I pull right up to my window with indirect lighting. If you have direct sunlight streaming in your window, wait until there is indirect sunlight.
On this journaling, I sprayed my paper with some Glitter Mist spray, allowed to dry, added the washi tape, die cuts and tip in. I love the texture and sparkle they add. The writing was done using my favorite black Zig marker. This praise journal is in my beautiful leather Filofax.
