This easy Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole is perfect for your church potluck and takes about an hour to cook and serve.


  • 1 lb ground sausage, preferable Jimmy Dean

  • 8 large eggs

  • 3/4 cup half and half

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 lb frozen tater tots


  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Spray a 9′ x 13′ Pyrex baking dish with baking spray.
  • Cook ground sausage over medium heat in skillet. Drain off fat. Spread the crumbled sausage on the bottom of the pan.
  • Whisk together the eggs, half and half and all spices in a medium bowl.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the sausage in the baking dish.
  • Place the frozen tater tots evenly on top of the sausage/egg mixture.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top. Return to oven and melt cheese, being careful not to burn.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
