Job was a man who had God’s abundant provision and served God when he had everything and nothing.

Taking that pen in hand, I clearly knew what the Holy Spirit wanted me to do and that I was making the right decision. I believed in God’s healing but I also knew that God could guide the hands of the doctor in saving the life of my husband. I was at rock bottom but I also knew the testimony of God and his faithfulness.

In closing, I would like to share Psalm 23, which sums up how God is greater than all of our trials including physical death because we know He walks with is in every trial.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

There isn’t one particular Bible verse that states God being greater in the highs and lows of life but we can see the theme resonating throughout the entire Bible . The origin of God is greater than the highs and lows could be from many places, but one that stands out to me from the word of God is the story of Job.

When Satan came before God, God knew that Job’s faith was stronger than religious ideals. If God gave satan permission to try him in any way, would he still serve God even if he had nothing? Here’s a quote from the Bible sharing that conversation:

As I put pen to paper that fateful early morning, I was making a declaration in my heart that God was in control. My husband came out of surgery with no memory loss or brain damage. Two weeks later they found another unruptured aneurysm aand my husband had to go back in to surgery again which was successful.

Since then he has been fine- praise the Lord!
