It was our first trip to the gas station living here in Germany.
The hubs and I couldn’t figure out how to pump gas and I’m sure it looked quite comical. The pay at the pump feature just wasn’t working. And we were getting flustered.
Someone came alongside us and told us that we needed to pump first and then pay. Who would have thought, right?
Well friends, we moved to Germany from Chicago, and there isn’t enough trust in humanity to allow anyone to pump before you pay in good old Chicagoland.
That’s just how it is.
We reversed our pay/pump mentality and…VOILA…we had gas and the ability to pay.
And it got me to thinking about God.
The Lord’s salvation is not pay then pump.
He offers salvation to all that call upon his name FREELY.
You don’t have to pay first to reap the blessing of eternal life. You just PUMP.
A Pit Stop to Refuel in God
Are you like my husband and I?
Are you standing at the pump trying to refuel but technically challenged?
Does the sound of a spiritual pit stop sound impossible after you’ve run yourself into the ground?
Do you need to refuel in God?
I often tell myself that I will set aside a time of rest, but life revs up, craziness ensues and I end up being more busy and stretched than when I began!
As you lap around the track, trying to get ahead in this race called life, do you see the checkered flags beckoning you to pull over for a look under the hood? Do you resist the need to get a tune up?
When my soul is feeling empty, I need to listen to the voice of God for some soul maintenance.
