Do you Suffer From Spiritual Identity Amnesia?

What is My Identity in Christ?
You might be suffering from Spiritual Identity Amnesia if you’ve ever asked yourself the question, “What is my Identity in Christ?’
For the first 23 years of life I went by my maiden name. I’m sure many of you know how difficult it can be to make the change when writing your new name or responding when someone calls you by name.
Every so often I’d suffer from Amnesia and not respond. It was kin to writing the wrong date after the beginning of the New Year.
After 25 years of being married to my husband, my identity is now joined with him and tells everyone who I am linked with.
My married name is who I am.

Do You Know Your Spiritual Identity?
Do you know your spiritual identity? In 1 John, John calls us “Beloved”. John didn’t pull this word out of thin air. No way. I believe that the Lord inspired him to use it to reveal God’s heart towards us. The word Beloved means to be esteemed, to be God’s favorite, to be worthy of love.
You are worthy of a love that stands not on your merit, but on everything He has done. His reconciliatory work is the foundation of our identity. Even if we are not worthy, the Lord Jesus has made us worthy.
We are His Beloved.

Like my experience in getting married, my identity as a child of God might have taken some time to adjust to, but it doesn’t change the fact of who I am.
I am a Beloved, child of God and follower of Christ.
Lovely Sisters, Let’s not suffer from Spiritual Identity Amnesia! Let’s embrace our identity in Him!
