The Spiral Bible Review- A Journaling and Note-Taking Bible All in One
What’s inside: Transform your spiritual growth with this ultimate journaling and note-taking Bible with this Spiral Bible review
As a pastor’s wife of 30+ years, I’ve held many a Bible in hand. And I’ve purchased many as well.
Some have gone their way of being placed on the bookshelf collecting dust, while others will stay front and center on my desk as I use them daily for my Bible reading, as a study Bible, and for my quiet time.
I love having a tool that meets the needs of how I study the Holy Bible, one where I can write notes in the margin, where I can journal in the margins, draw a chart or table, and where I can simply read God’s word.
In this review of the Spiral Bible, I hope to prove to you that the Spiral Bible is so much more than an ordinary Bible and why it has jumped to the place of my favorite Bible.
I was provided a complimentary copy of the Spiral Bible in return for a Spiral Bible review. The feedback expressed below is unbiased and based solely upon my personal opinion.
Spiral Bible Review

So, what’s the big deal about the Spiral Bible?
Quite a bit!
The Spiral Bible enhances the readers experience because it supplies ample room for notetaking, Bible journaling and even for jotting down prayers. If this Bible had a voice, it would scream for the Bible student to write in, take notes in, journal in, adventure with and go deeper in the word of God!
It is, hands down, the best notetaking and creative Bible that I have ever come across.
The Spiral Bible is a notetaking Bible, journaling Bible and regular Bible all wrapped up into one

Spiral Bible Features and Functionality
The Spiral Bible isn’t only the words of Scripture on page. The Spiral Bible is beckoning for interaction from the reader in the form of notes, outlines and journaling.
Here are some of it’s features:
- The size of the Spiral Bible pages are standard U/S notebook paper (8.5 by 11 inches)
- It is a Bible with thick pages
- Durability- the Bible is very durable. The Bible can not be bent back on itself
- Storage- store as you would any other Bible
- Binding- It has a Spiral bound, lay flat binding, which means it is a lay flat Bible
- The 16 point font size makes reading the Bible verses super easy, even for those who are advanced in age, or who have a vision disability
- Available in the King James version, the American Standard and World English Bible
And here is my FAVORITE feature- You know that space in the middle of your Bible that you can’t write in? You know that void in the center where it’s dead space because of the middle slope>. With the Spiral Bible, you can write on the entire page with no more dead space or void! AMAZING!

More Spiral Bible Features

Review- Layout of the Bible
Who doesn’t want their own personalized Bible?
The Spiral Bible doesn’t have bells and whistles like a concordance/Bible dictionary or cross referencing but it really doesn’t need them and here’s why-
Your Bible will be your notes, your prayers and your testimony that you will be doing that in the margin yourself. That’s where this Bible shines. Soon enough you will have a Bible that chronicles your walk with God in your own words.
But in case you were wondering about the layout of the Bible itself, here it is from front to back:
- Title Page
- Copyright page
- Notes Page
- Between each book is a lined full page for notes

Art Mediums and the Spiral Bible
The Spiral Bible is perfect for creative expression incuding Bible Journaling and micro Bible Journaling due to the thickness of the paper and the width of the margins. It’s perfect to be used as a Journaling Bible.
Art Mediums: Since the pages are very thick, like cardstock, there was no issue in using acrylic paint on the pages I tried. Acrylic paint is more of a dry paint that sticks to the paper’s surface.
With the pages being thicker than a traditional Bible, I don’t see any issues with other Bible journaling supplies and accesories that you could use such as stamps or gelatos.

Make a Test Page to Test Bible Journaling Supplies
At right, you’ll see a Bible journaling in the margins I did with some magazine clippings, acrylic paint and a die cut. I also used stick glue to fasten everything down.
If you ever have any question as to bleed through of any marker/highlighter, paint or Bible Journaling supply, a perfect solution is to make one of the ‘notes’ page in the back of the Bible a ‘test page’. Use the marker, stamp or paint and see how it responds to the paper. Once it’s dry, make a note next to the tested supply so you know exactly how the Bible page reacts on the paper.
Watercolor paint uses much more water and the paint is absorbed by the paper- so it’s always best to try that supply on one of the blank note pages provided in the back of the Bible.

Spiral Bible Audience- Who Would Benefit From Owning A Spiral Bible?
The Spiral Bible suitable for all age groups.
The Spiral Bible for Adults
Grownups love the Spiral Bible too! The regular size print (16 point font) is perfect for adults.
Spiral Bible for Kids
At left, you can see the kids version of the Spiral Bible which features coloring pages which is so much fun for the kiddos! It’s kid friendly format is perfect for doing daily Bible time for the fam or homeschool and then reinforcing that Bible lesson with notes and/or creative coloring / Bible journaling in the margin. I would consider the Kids Bible to be appropriate for kids who are old enough to color and aren’t prone to tear pages.

The Spiral bible also comes in a large size print for the visually impaired or elderly that is super easy to read in the gospels.
