Bible Verses about Serving Others

Bible Scriptures About Serving Others

Inside: In this blog post you’ll read a compilation of wonderful Bible Scriptures about Serving Others?.

The statue of Jesus stood without hands. It had been bombed in a European town and it toppled over with major damage. “We must return the statue of Jesus to it’s former glory”, the towns people might have said, as they set the statue upright and made plans to replace the hands of Jesus.

Bible Scriptures About Serving Others

But then there was a novel idea to leave the statue of Jesus without hands.

Why?

Because we, the church of the living God, are the hands of Christ that serve others. In this world, Christ has no hands but ours.

Jesus uses us to do his work on this earth.

We are the ones who reach out to help others in Jesus stead.

There are many versions of the story of the Jesus statue without hands and it’s hard to find the original source or even if it’s true. But the story makes a good life lesson in bringing home the truth that, “Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.”.

We are the hands and feet of Jesus. We serve others with our hands for Christ. We take the gospel of love to others with our feet.

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.”

What does the Bible say about Serving Others?

The theme of service resonates throughout the entire Bible. Without surprise. The finest example of service in the Bible was shown by Jesus who washed feet, healed and ministered to the highest in worldly stature to the lowest of all people. He never turned his back on them. Jesus honored earthly kings and served the wayside beggar.

Jesus walked this earth in service to others in humility.

Bible Scriptures about Serving Others

It’s one thing to talk about how we need to do good to those around us. It’s another to get in the trenches and actually serve Christians in the body of Christ, the less fortunate and those closest to us- our family. The sad truth is that we often neglect those who are closest to us. Sweet Sister, let’s change that and cultivate a humble heart who serves others for Jesus.

There are so many Bible Scriptures about serving others and my list, is by no means, an exhaustive list. Here is my compilation of scriptures about service to others to help you serve well amongst the body of Christ and outside as well.

I’m not a betting woman but I’d like to assume that the love language of Jesus was acts of service because there are so many accounts of acts of service in the Bible. Everywhere he went, he was selflessly serving others.

Here are some examples:

  • Jesus heals the blind man in the temple (Matthew 21)
  • Jesus blesses the children (Mark 10:13-16)
  • Jesus healed the blind men (Matthew 9)
