It might have looked like a scene from a Zombie movie. (I hate those but that’s besides the point)
Their skin was laden with sores.
In some cases, their appendages were falling off.
The plague of leprosy in the Bible, not only caused physical disease, but it required you to live outside the city so you didn’t spread the contagion to your friends, family and loved ones.
As a warning measure, lepers had to announce their presence in public by shouting “Unclean, Unclean” to those who were coming near them.
As Jesus was walking through Samaria and Galilee, he met ten lepers who announced their presence to Him.
Since the priests were the ones to proclaim someone was now clean, Jesus told the lepers to go to the priest for an examination
And they were healed.

Thanksgiving in the Scripture
Ingratitude creeps in quickly without any effort on our part.
Even in the midst of God’s blessing, we can become so focused on ourselves and our own situation that we don’t take the time to say Thank you.
The pattern of the world is to focus on what is right in front of us at this very moment, to be selfish and self absorbed.
But according to Romans 12:2 we are called to renew our minds in faith and be thankful.
Renew our minds in faith. (I needed to say that again because I need to grasp hold of that scripture truth!)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. -Romans 12:2
The word Thanks appears 114 times in the Bible and the word Thanksgiving appears 30 times.
And no wonder. Being thankful is something we need to daily practice and perfect because it takes effort and goes against the flesh. Being thankful is a transformative process as Christ is formed in us daily.
