100 Things to Pray For When You Don't Know What To Pray

I’ve always said that I’ve wanted to be transparent in writing to you. Sis.

So it’s confession time.

Sometimes when I pray, my mind starts to wander and I end up mentally planning my grocery list instead of talking to God. Or my to do list. Has that ever happened to you, too?

Busyness. Distractions. Not knowing what to pray about. Yes, there are some days I simply don’t know what to pray about, and then throw in self condemnation and the condemnation of the devil.

Oy veh, the spiritual warfare is all quite real Sis. That’s why I want to give you as many resources on powerful prayer as possible and arm you with as many daily prayer points to combat the above mentioned issues.

If you’re like me and need a little guidance in the prayer department, this list is for you. I want to inveil the mystery behind what prayer is. Prayer is a way that you can simply talk with God and have a conversation with Him.

And why did I choose a list of things to pray for that amounted to, you ask? I figured 99 just wouldn’t cut it, and 101 seemed like overkill. Plus, I wanted to make sure you had plenty of things to pray for. 🙂

100 Things to Pray About- Why is Prayer So Important?

Why is prayer so important? Here is a list I have compiled why I believe prayer is so important.

5 Reasons Why Prayer is so important as a Christian Woman

As a Christian who loves the Lord and is faithfully serving Jesus, prayer is one of the most important aspects of a relationship with Him.

Prayer is a Conversation with God

It’s not just a religious duty or a spiritual discipline. You don’t need a prayer method or printable- even though these things can be helpful. Prayer is simply a conversation with the Heavenly Father, the one who created you, knows you intimately, and loves you unconditionally.

Prayer is a Way to Express Gratitude and Worship

Prayer is an important part of expressing gratitude and worship to God. When I pray, I’m acknowledging His sovereignty, His goodness, and His mercy. I’m thanking Him for all the blessings He’s given me, and for the countless ways He’s shown me His love. Having a time of daily prayers is the very least that I can do for the One that has done so much for me.

Having a time of daily prayers is the very least that I can do for the One that has done so much for me.

Prayer is a Way to Stay Connected to God

Thirdly, prayer is a way to stay connected to God throughout the day. It’s easy to get distracted by the busyness of life, the stresses of work, and the demands of relationships. But when I take intentional moments to pray, I’m reminding myself that God is with me always, that He cares about every detail of my life, and that He’s available to me whenever I need Him.

Prayer is a Way to Seek Guidance and Direction

Fourth, prayer is a way to seek God’s guidance and direction. When I’m facing difficult decisions or uncertain circumstances, I can turn to God in prayer and ask Him for wisdom, discernment, and clarity. I trust that He knows what’s best for me, and that He will guide me in the right direction if I seek Him with a humble and open heart.

Prayer is How we Intercede for Others

Finally, prayer is a way to intercede for others. As a Christian, I believe that we are called to love and serve others, just as Jesus did. When I pray for my family, my friends, my community, and even my enemies, I’m lifting them up to God and asking Him to work in their lives. I’m also aligning my heart with God’s heart, and asking Him to show me how I can be a part of His redemptive work in the world.

Sometimes, when you are trying to pray you just can’t find the words…or you don’t know what to pray for. That’s why I am equipping you with all of the prayer topics you need in this prayer guide.

I divided these prayer points into 5 categories that cover an effective prayer life. Some points of prayer overlap, but I have put these powerful prayers into the best category where they seem to fit. These prayer prompts are a great jumping off point as you ponder on necessary things to pray for every day.

If you’ve ever had difficulty in knowing what to pray for- this list is for you!

100 Things to Pray For Yourself

In all of the 100 things to pray for, yourself is the most important person. It might seem kind of selfish but hear me out. Yes, you can pray for others, but if you don’t have a relationship with the Lord, God doesn’t hear those prayers. (John 9:31).
