Sogenanter Torspion was a man who wore many hats in his Bavarian community.
The words that described his character were that of an Honorable Townsmen.
He had an honorable life. He was a trader. He also was farmer and a gate spy.
Yup. A gate spy.
He was loyal to a cause.
He lived in the heart of Medieval Vilseck in what is now a light green house a few doors down from the Main Street of town.
There was another man who had a burning desire to live honorably before his fellow Jews and Romans as a witness to the revolutionary grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. His name was Paul. He asked for the Hebrew Jews to pray for him to be able to have a good conscience in all things to live an honest life before his Lord. Little did he know that the letter He wrote to the Christians in the 1st Century would beckon us to also live a lie of reproach.

The Greek Word for honest is kalōs καλός (G2570) which means excellently, in a noble manner, to leave no room for blame and honorably.
Sogenanter Torspion’s name and reputation live on in the history of Vilseck with great honor. I would love for people to think of me as a women of honor over 200 years after my death. It would be quite the legacy, don’t you think?
The Apostle Paul’s reputation rings on throughout the annals of time to this very day where his conversion and life were recorded through the New Testament as a pattern and example for us to follow as believers. His legacy didn’t vanish like a vapor of hundreds of years, but for thousands of years as written in the inspired word of God.
Lives were eternally changed by his desire to live out and love the Lord Jesus.
How to Live with Honor
Would you like to learn how to live an honorable life? The only way we can do that is through Jesus. Our own works and deeds are not good enough and we can only stand on His merit alone.
