The Best Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipe
Place your butter in the pan and place it in the oven to melt, making sure that it doesn’t burn.
Sprinkle brown sugar on top of butter evenly around bottom of the pan. Arrange pineapple on top of butter and overlap the pineapple slices if necessary. Place one maraschino cherry in the middle of each pineapple slice.
Prepare Cake Mix according to package instructions
Pour prepared cake mix batter on top of butter/brown sugar/pineapple topping and bake in oven for 25-30 minutes until cake springs back when touched in the center and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Pour leftover pineapple juice on top over cake.
Allow to sit for at least 30 minutes in the pan. Place a long platter over your pan and gently flip, gently shaking the cake till it unmolds onto the serving platter.
